Femi Kuti Nominated For A Grammy Award

A Grammy is the biggest award one can get in a music career and our very own Femi Kuti has been nominted for the "Best world music album", along side Gipsy Kings, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Ravi Shankar.

This would be his fourth nomination since 2003. But he seems to be less optimistic year and year as he keeps losing out. In 2011, Femi Kuti deliberately skipped out on attending the awards show stating that he “didn’t want to raise his hopes high.”

I hope he wins this time around.

Meanwhile, Jay Z is leading with 9 nominations, followed by Kendrick Lemar, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore and Pharell Williams follow with 7 nominations each.
